New Income Levels for Foreigners Applying for Work Permits in Denmark 2025

The Danish Government has set a new income threshold for foreigners applying for work permits.

These changes in income thresholds aim to evaluate if the salary offered by employers to foreign workers corresponds to the Danish standards before a permit can be approved.

The Danish Agency for International Recruitment (SIRI) stated that assessing the income level will ensure that foreign workers entering the country are being treated fairly.

SIRI stated that applications submitted between October and December 2024 will be assessed based on the current salary threshold.

Those submitted after the date above will be assessed based on the new salary threshold.

“To be granted a residence and work permit, your salary and employment terms must correspond to Danish standards. This means that you must receive a remuneration which corresponds to the standards of the type of employment in question in Denmark.”
